What I love about BPBS is that it enables women of all different backgrounds, ages, marital statuses, and other characteristics to come together under the banner of seeking truth and find it together through the study of God’s Word.
I’ve been at the Bright Pond for over seven years and have not only grown in my knowledge of the Word, but my walk with Christ is vibrant and alive.
I’ve known the Lord for many years, and I find that to stay connected with others on the same journey encourages and strengthens me in my own walk of faith.
I arrived at Bright Pond Bible Study in the fall of 2004 believing in Jesus. However, I was overwhelmed, fearful, and blaming God for life’s challenges. What I found was truth from God’s Word taught with humor and honesty, a discussion group where it was safe to share what God was teaching me, wise women who encouraged and prayed, and deep friendships that developed over time. I am a wife, mom, and avid volunteer!
So, what do I love about BPBS? I love that real women, like me, can come with real problems and find real truth and perspective by studying the Bible. I have found that God speaks to me through the study of His Word, through the teaching during the lecture, and by others sharing during the discussion groups. This multipronged approach allows the truth to sink into my mind and be committed to memory, and I then have the opportunity to apply it to my life. Learning and growing alongside other women is a privilege and a blessing!

I have found over the years in my walk of faith that I grow most in my relationship with Christ while I am involved in relationships with others. I asked the Lord Jesus to lead my life when I was a teenager and have been a part of Bible studies and small groups ever since! I love the fact that I need to hear how the Lord speaks to fellow students of the Bible so that I can have a greater view of His immeasurable nature and kingdom. I am a wife with two sons, one in high school and one in second grade.
The teachings from my over four years at Bright Pond Bible Study have inspired me to want to learn more. The word of God lifts your heart and warms your soul. To be with others who want to seek and learn is a “comfort zone.”
It has been a blessing to attend Bright Pond Bible Study for about thirteen years, and I have enjoyed every minute of it! I’ve enjoyed sharing laughter, tears, and the love that God has shown for His precious “daughters of the Pond.”
I am married and have two grown boys. As a breast cancer survivor of nineteen years, I am looking forward to celebrating the wonderful milestone of twenty years. I truly love to share how God has moved in miraculous ways in my life. So, please free feel to ask me.

God dearly blessed me when a good friend invited me to BPBS! I found a safe haven where for six years I have been able to study God’s Word, praising Him more, while having a wonderful camaraderie with awesome women. I am a daughter of the King of Kings, a wife to my loving husband, a mother to a clan of seven, and a grandma of almost ten!
What a blessing it has been to be part of this wonderful Bible study since January 2005! I look forward to greeting you at the door and helping to make you feel welcome each week.
Bright Pond has been life-changing for me. What I love about our teachings is how they relate the lessons of the Bible to our 21st-century lives as women, mothers, and wives right here in Northern Virginia. One of the early pearls of advice I heard was to “be careful what you take in, what you feed yourself,” meaning watch what you view, read, and listen to. I love and look forward to coming to BPBS every week. Beyond the teachings, I have met many faithful and inspiring women here. I have learned strength in women I had not previously known. It is inspiring to hear others’ stories and see what God has done in their lives.
